Our 10 Tenets & Core Values

​ERTSAR is considered a High Performing Team of Humanitarians who Specialise in RESCUE & MEDICAL Service. But more than that we are an optimistic, cheerful, positive, solutions oriented group of men and women from different backgrounds who are sincerely interested and able to help others in the calling of service to humanity. 

We have organised our 10 of our Core Values & Tenets in 10 "S's" below. These were written by our Founders in 2002 for our charitable constitution and tenets and values, and updated in 2021 to this current format you see belows:

Service
We are all about service. Humanitarian service. Service to others through the communities we live in, and around the world especially when they need it.

Standards
ERTSAR represent standards. Standards of established humanitarian best practice, Safety standards for our members. We follow SOPs. Our standards must be high. 

Show up
We have very dedicated people. We believe it is important to be available and 'show up' when needed whether for training, fundraising, capacity building or emergency response.  

Smart
Smartness is important and creates organisation, structure, hygiene and a well presented image. It create a pride in our people and also a valuable function in our property.

Salubrious
We believe in being Salubrious meaning favourable to or promoting health or well-being. That includes the recipients of our service as well as the health & fitness of our members. 

Strategic
Our approach has always been 'strategic' and thoughtful. We have to be calculated when planning and responding to operations and consider timing, resources and impact..    

Small Agile / Agility
Less heavy kit and people to move for the same or lesser impact and benefit. We believe that part of our effectiveness comes from our ability to be agile and sometimes smaller. 

Solutions Oriented
In often challenging environments, we like members and behaviours that present an optimistic and cheerful solutions oriented approach to the possible problems we face. 

Science and Technology
We like to look at options to use science and technology when we can to support our service delivery and work. That often (not always) means looking at smaller lighter improvements. 

Sustainability
We like to consider the impact of our work. This includes, if possible considering the greener options. And remembering that the 3 pillars: the economy, society, and the environment.
