What we do and who we are is in our name: We are ERTSAR or The Emergency Response Team Search and Rescue.
1: An Emergency Response Team and our main focus is in disasters.
2: A Search and Rescue Team with specialist ability in technical rescue and medical capacity.
ERTSAR does have significant capacity in most all environment's and terrains including ground / land, water and air.
We provide national services in the countries and local areas we are based and we also provide international services to respond to the vulnerable and those at risk or affected in other countries.
Founded in 2002, ERTSAR is also known as "Oxfordshire Search and Rescue" in the UK (www.osar.org.uk)

INTERNATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE
ERT SAR is an United Nations recognised INSARAG international disaster response Search & Rescue Team. (INSARAG is an acronym for the UN's International Search and Rescue Advisory Group.) ERTSAR also has experts recognised by the world bank and is pursuing World Health Organisation (WHO) Type 1 Emergency Medical Team (EMT).
ERT SAR was founded in 2002 by Former armed Police Officers who became Medics (Paramedic and Nurse) and Technical Rescue Specialists; Gary Foo and Virginia Foo.
ERT SAR has celebrated almost 20 years in the service of others
NATIONAL CAPACITY
Although well known for their disaster response work around the globe since 2002, ERT SAR have several other capacities. For example ERTSAR is a support service to the local council and local authorities. It is a recognized support team to Crown Corporations and the Emergency Services. In the UK it is a DEFRA Flood and Swiftwater Response Asset. In Canada it supports the provincial and federal government for community response as well as larger operational surge capacity. Internationally it is an unclassified WHO - Type 1 Medical Team. It's technical rescue capability is compliant to NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards such as 1006, 1670 and 1983.

The team is made of of well trained unpaid volunteers from all walks of life, many emergency services or military backgrounds. They train year around in all disciplines and come together at times of need and during surge capacity to not only a support service to the authorities in their local communities but also internationally. ERTSAR it is a registered charity in England & Wales & a Federal Non-Profit NGO in Canada. ERT SAR have no paid staff or administration and all monies raised go toward serving the communities they serve, the objectives of the NGO and suffering.
