Great weekend doing medical training!  |  Stop the Bleed  |  RYA First Aid

ERT SAR Chief Gary Foo taught the Stop the Bleed program and enhanced it with TCCC / Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Police Tactical Medic material.  Gary, who is a Paramedic, is also an RYA First Aid Instructor and Gary knows the value of the program for ERT SAR Marine Uint members. Gary asked Mike Coulson who is a former Police Officer and runs an RYA school, Aboard Boat Training, to come and teach the RYA First Aid course too.  The team had a great day and time flew by whilst everyone leaned and practised lots!

& The Canadian Coast Guard
The Niagara Regional Police Marine Unit is a specialist branch of the the Niagara Regional Police Service. Like many Police Marine Unit's they have a huge responsibility for many public safety, service and rescue as ell as investigative calls.  ERT SAR Marine Unit had a great time training together and performing a specialist technical rescue exercise involving a water, cliff drops and land and we were also well supported by the Canadian Coastguard who were also present.

The Niagara Regional Police Marine Unit is a very highly qualified Underwater Search and Rescue Unit (Dive Team) as well and have a lot of specialist gear and their facility includes a dive training tank on site, for capside and sunk vessels.  ERT SAR plan to train again soon.

More pictures to come.
